Dog chewing on tree's

We have a small fenced in area the we use as a play area for our dogs which has a large tree right in the middle of it to provide shade for them. The problem is that they love to chew on the tree. Is there anything we can spray on the tree that wouldn't harm it and that the dogs would find too yucky to put in there mouths?
