I need a few cuttings of this for a container I am going to plant. I have lots of seeds to trade or some calla lily seedlings. I will be getting my seed trade list set up shortly. I would also be glad to send postage.
CLOSED: Looking for Mintleaf cuttings
What is Mintleaf? I couldn't find an entry in PF...
I have mint coming up.... Spearmint 'Kentucky Colonel' and 'Chocolate Peppermint'.... but I have a hunch you're talking about something else...
Yep, I think it is something else but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. I am attaching a picture (not a very good one, though) and you may recognize it as something else. It almost looks to me like a succulent or something but I can't find any info about it. It is the green variegated plant in the picture.
I'm sorry... I have no idea what that plant could be. I wonder if posting that photo along with any additional info you may have on the plant ID forum would help...
That's a good idea. I'm off to do that right now. Thanks for your help.
Plectranthus is the name of the plant you desire. My book has 'mintleaf' labeled as Plectranthus madagascariensis. Varigated is P. coleoides. Some people call it swedish ivy, but I have always know it as candlestick vine. Hope this helps.

Cool! Thanks for solving that mystery! That does look like a great trailer for containers... I'll have to keep my eye out for it too!
Glad to be useful, lol.
Thanks, eden, for letting me know what it is I am looking for. Now to find someone who would like to share a little piece of it....
Thanks to you, critter, for your suggestion to post on the ID forum.
your welcome
Catt, I saw your new thread... FYI, there's a green "swedish ivy" plant also, so you might want to post that photo if you're looking for that plant specifically. Here's the PF link http://www.davesgarden.com/pf/go/1354/index.html It's aka "creeping charlie."
Thanks critter, I like this one too, although I prefer the variegated one. By the way, I was born in Cumberland.
Cumberland -- what a beautiful town! :-) If you ever head up that way, LMK... I think Frederick would be on the way for you... stop in for coffee (and cuttings, LOL)!
Hey, I wanted to let you know... I do have variegated Cuban Oregano, which I've recently discovered is also a Plectranthus... I just put a dozen cuttings in water to root. Mine was white & green last summer, faded to chartreuse & green over the winter, I'm guessing new growth will have white margins again when it is warmer.
I have a plant that is just like that. But I purchased it as "PineApple Mint" its smell so nice and a bit different .
If you are still interested dmail me. I would not mind sending u some when it comes up.
