Hi there: I so wish I had joined DG about a month earlier..I am very interested in Plumeria and I got some on e-bay . I planted them the way the instructions said and I am very disapointed as only 4 seeds out of about 20 germinated...I have read all the posts here and I wish I had had the advise earlier...oh well live and learn!!! I will just have to buy some more as I really want them..I am in Canada in zone 3 but I have a very large sunroom that I grow Orchids in so I think I can grow Plumeria just fine...Thank you for all the info, I most ashuridly will be checking out this thread before I plant anymore...

Welcome kinnia!!! You won't find a nicer group of folks then here. They are generous and knowledgeable with their advice!! Somewhere (Clare) I think posted a papertowel method with the seeds. I've never had much luck with seeds...so next time I will definately go with that method!

Hi Kinnika and welcome to Dave's and the Plumeria Forum! It's great to have you here. Seeds can be tricky as they need light, warmth, humidity, and moisture but not too much moisture. The seeds should be fresh for the best germination rate, but I have heard of older seeds germinating as well. There is an article over at Plumerias.com that I wrote which describes how I do seeds. There are also many other ways to do seeds like soaking them and planting them directly into a container with potting soil and using a humidity dome. Heat and light are important so summer is often the best time to sow seeds, but you can use artificial heat and light to sow seeds in winter. I would give the seeds another month , more might come up . One [ one left - I tossed ] Brug just sprouted last week and I planted about 20 before Thanksgiving .
