Be happy! Here's the precipitation you have been crying for. We all knew it was bound to happen. Your plants will be loving the "drink" once it all melts.

My heart goes out to all you people complaining about snow...I win the prize for the most snow for this date in Canada...think of me when all your spring flowers are out and I'm still buried. For reference, the fence is 4.5 feet tall.

That's why I started this thread for you and Ginny Todd.....I was pretty sure you two would really get a kick outta that guy starting up a snowblower for that pathetic amount.

Your pic is why I didn't beg You for Snow. ;)

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

Tood, you definately win the prize. You've had so much this year, is it a record yet?

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

Actually it is not even close to a record.....we didn't have a flake of snow on the ground on Feb. 1, but then we had 4 major dumps, including a record 72 cm dump...that quickly builds it up. Normally we would have a few mild days in March that gets rid of most snow but it hasn't happened this year and no sign of mild in the future weeks...plus 2-4 is as good as it gets...that makes for VERY SLOW melting.

Blyth, ON(Zone 5b)

Holy cow! We had some good snowfalls here this year but nothing like the accumulation you have Todd. Here's hoping you get weather just a little warmer so melting will take place more quickly - but not so quickly you have flooding problems.

comebychance, NL(Zone 5b)

todd.
i live just a little over a hours away from you,we dont have nearly as much as that.
The week-end you got the 72 cm's i never had to shovel my driveway.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

what is it realators say...... Location, Location, Location!

Our forecast for today was suna nd 10*C, but it's mostly overcast, spitting a bit, and a chilly wind.

I hear Spring arrives Monday 10:26 AM my local time PST, it better hurry up!

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

Well MG99 spring never leaves Vancouver Island. AKA lotus land.

Sofer, I've paid my dues to live here. I worked 3 years on the Arctic coast, lived 3 years in northern BC, 10 years in Ottawa and Trenton, and 6 years in Fredericton NB. I've never spent any time onthe praires though. My dad was raised in Winterpeg and stayed well away once he could make up his own mind.

I really enjoyed the north, didn't really mind the cold, it was a drier cold and so long as we dressed for it, it was OK. It made some challenges for work though. IV tubing freezes at -40, makes it a bit hard when the pt. depends on what's in the tubing.

But for me, the west coast is home. I've gotta have the mountains and the ocean within sight.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

Amen to the mountains and ocean. I miss the Puget sound too. Moving to Montana was only because of the numbers of people loving the PNW moving in and staying. I'm jealous cause when I escaped Seattle I always went Kayaking on the west coast of V Island.

comebychance, NL(Zone 5b)

we here on the east coast never had what you could call a hard winter
but for some reason i hated this winter the most of all.dont know why
it felt soooooooooo long

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

You are a gardener and winter is a stationary cabin fever time. All gardeners are kenetic and love moving along. You just have too much energy this winter. Get a sun lamp and start tanning. Winter is over March 22.

comebychance, NL(Zone 5b)

mmmmm that might work a taning lamp never though about that
i get realy antcy this time of year and that maybe the problum.
My wife sayes i drive here crazey this time of year

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

Cabin Fever is well known here in alaska and montana. We have a weekend in Feb called the bar stool races where people compete for the best time racing a bar stool and skiis down a hill outside the bar in Martin City. It helps to keep from driving the DW crazy.
It has a fun game going on while watching the races called "chicken Poop bingo" where a chicken or two are put in a pen with a Bingo system flooring and where they poop is how the ball falls.

comebychance, NL(Zone 5b)

oh my god thats soundes so funny.wish i was there to see them playing bingo.ha,ha, ha,
im going to laugh about that for a wile chicken poop bingo no way.
