Here is another find at our Rona's which is like the Home Depot. Because alot of the stars have finished blooming, does this mean that the big start will die off and the babies will live on?

Earth Star Bromeliad
The main plant can live for a loong time after blooming, the more you remove and pot the pups the more they seem to grow.
Thanks a bunch, Kyle.

GORgeous! I am really getting excited about Bromiliads...Always liked them alot but I am noticing what a tremendous variation and beauty involved!!! Tomorrow going to dig up a mess of green and purple ones from a friends yard...she doesn't want them and was going to take to Green Waste! They are gorgeous...will post a picture tomorrow.
Those little guys are tough too!
I have dozens around here.
They offshoot like crazy.
Just pluck them out and pot'm up.
If you have two alike give one more light than the other.
Watch the difference in color.

Thanks, Carol. You go girl and rescue you those poor babies from your friends yard. Can't wait to see a picture of them.
I'm really liking them to Ric. I'll have to pot up the broken pups tomorrow and try the light difference.
