My Daughter bought about 200 bulbs back in the winter, put them in her garage and got so busy with college and her four kids, she forgot so plant them so she gave them all to me. Is it too late? Thanks John
Is it too late to plant bulbs?
Better late than never :)
Assuming they aren't all dried up or rotten, plant them! You might get no bloom, or delayed bloom, but if they are healthy they'll be back on schedule for next year.
Good luck and Happy Gardening,
Melissa
Thank you , Melissa, they all are in very good shape. All solid. John

John,
Last spring I bought lot of bulbs on clearance and planted them later than they should have been planted and to my suprise they bloomed, Just later in the season. It was kinda neat to have Daff and tulips in mid summer when no one else did. Some people thought they were some new hybrids that were rebloomers, what a hoot.
I purchased a whole bunch of lilies on sale and planted them very late once too. I had gobs of (a little on the smallish side) lilies in the late summer / early fall. The next year they bloomed right on schedule.
edited to add, yes, it was a hoot :)

How long should it take before the bulbs start poking through the dirt after you plant them? I'm an anxious newbie.
