What is the best way for me to split my little Tiger Eyes (or Kit Kat maybe)?
Getting way to big for the pot.
Splitting
Fancyvan,
You have a very pretty begonia there. I am hoping someone will answer your question soon, because I am all ears. Good luck
Patti
Because these types have so many rhizomes, I find it hard to split. The best thing to do is move it to a bigger pot and/or snip off individual rhizomes and root them in a very humid environment. They grow twice the size in a terrarium but resent being taken out once established in that kind of environment.

Than ks Butch. I will try cutting/rooting the individual rhizomes. Dont really want a bigger plant!
Thanks butch for answering Fancyvvan question. I was wondering the same thing.
Fancy Van you don't want a bigger plant? It is beautiful.
Patti
Hah! Patti: most of my indoor plants are hangers(most are 'Xmas' Cactus actually) but I have a few others on an old sewing machine in the TV room. Whatever I have has to fit on that machine! This time of year there are pots of bulbs and primroses and as stuff finishes flowering it moves upstairs to the bathroom . (And in the summer I am an outdoor gardener so the indoor stuff doesn't get much attention.) So no I dont want a bigger plant - will just start a couple more from this one to give as gifts .
Here's what part of it looks like at the moment!
Your plants are very pretty Fancyvan. I would love to have more room too for more plants, but I think my DH would disagree.
LOL

I have taken sections off my Tiger, simply by slicing off a piece, & anchoring it with half of a paper clip. Just set it on the surface of some damp peat, & roots will from in a short time. Sometimes the pieces will already have some roots hanging off, so the transition is easy. I have not lost any new Tiger babies this way yet - this variety is a great one for sharing!
