Just joined...Overwhelmed already!

I just found and joined DG last night. My daughter and I own a local florist/giftshop outside of Nashville, TN. Funny as this sounds, I know almost nothing about flowers or plants, but I really want to learn. We've been discussing getting a greenhouse from Gardeners Supply to be able to grow veggies & certain items year round. I am most interested in growing my own dish gardens, as they are a big seller for us for funerals, etc. I am very interested in learning how to grow cactus and make into dish gardens. Also have been interested in learning about bonsais for a long time. My daughter wants to learn more about orchids and lilies. I have ordered a couple of books on greenhouses - anxiously waiting for them!!

Any of you that can give us any advice, on ANYTHING, please do. I feel totally overwhelmed at everything on here!

Welcome Marge-Maples, funny to think of owning a flower shop before becoming a gardener. Tho I don't really know why, people run dress shops without being seamstresses and so on.
