Feline Diabetes

Ginger has diabetes and we have had good control since her diagnosis. I just found out that Lilly has stopped making the insulin we use. I spoke with my vet and it's not going to be easy to find a substitute. There is a vet place making a cat insulin but it's not the same, twice the cost and I would need different syringes. If I can't find the same insulin, Ginger will have to go through all the testing again.

I'm going to pick up a prescription tomorrow and hopefully I can get a couple of vials somewhere. The vet is going to check with a compounding pharmacist to see if they can make her insulin. My vet is really upset. She has a diabetic cat and all of the diabetic cats in her practice use this insulin and her sister uses it.

I was so hoping that this would just mean a change in her prescription.
