Don't get too excited as I'm not quite finished with it yet! Promise to get it done in the next two weeks. This month's feature will be Hoya obscura!

Hoya of the Month - March 2006 - Coming soon!
Oh good Susan, maybe I can read the article to mine and it will learn how to grow some peduncles!!! I have had mine under the lightstand and wrapped in plastic like Mel suggested, and it has actually put on about 8 leaves this winter. This baby really loves the humidity. The cuttings I started from it look like they will make it to. But my fingers are still crossed.
I have a great friend in Chicago who grows obscuras...tons of them. I will ask him for any GREAT tips....too.

I'll be watching with anticipation, too, as I have a nice 6" basket of this one and also no blooms in sight!
Hmmmm, just finished posting about H. lacunosa... H. obscura is not at all very different... it likes bright indirect light (same=early morning or late afternoon sun)...by indirect light it means, like, hanging under the eaves of the house when the sun is shinning "out there". H. obscura actually tolerates a bit more direct/bright light and turns reddish between the veins...hence, "obscura = dark". There is an H. lacunosa from Lankawi Island with a bunch of buds and two blooms....throws fragrance throughout the GH...can't wait for the others to bloom!!!

That's good to hear, Carol, thank you....as I recently moved my Obscura to the same window as my Lacunosa, which has been quite happy there!
