I just love them.
I think this means SPRING HAS SPRUNG
Adorable picture and interesting nest. Spring is definitely here.
Hi Frannie. Welcome back. I was just thinking I owe you an email yesterday and here you are today. I am so far behind on all my chat. I hope you are feeling just great Frannie and ready to plan and plant your new garden.
Kell that is just so..........precious. They say another week of cold temps. and rain for us, then I am hoping that Spring will be sprung.
Talk about a "big" mouth. So cute.
Kell, that picture is priceless!! It's not spring here, it snowed most of the day!

2006 picture contest entry...
That is a great picture Kell! I was just thinking this morning that "spring had sprung"
you have hummer babies already???? That is unbelievable lol Congrats on finding the nest. I am still searching lol. Maybe now that I am in the woods I will finally find one since I have so many trees to look in
kell, how ever did you find them, I just love hummers and last year I saw only one, and where is the nest?
great picture Kell....
How cute, Kell. I wish it was Spring here.
Yes Donna, those are from now. I was surprised too, I thought they would wait till it was warmer. We are having terrible storms right now, so I am worried about them. There are 2 of them in there.
Hi Pebble!!! Long time no see. Have you gotten back to the states lately?
I washed and hung-up the hummingbird feeder yesterday , Thought I saw one and with the rain they will need food .
WOWIE!!! I've never seen a hummer nest - are all the babies only children??
Hi Sherry!! We have missed you!! I hope all is well.
Doris, they are at my favorite nursery!! Another reason to be so bad. I went and bought 2 more tree roses today.
Tony, I think it is time to get them out. Last year I planted tons of Abutilons and the humnmers were all over. I always hear them making that little noise they make. I feel bad for I cut the abutilons to about 1 ft tall last month. They were still flowering and feeding the hummers. I didn't think about it till I had already done the dirty deed.
Kin, how far behind are you towards spring then I am?? Have your daffodils all flowered yet? Can you do tulips where you live?
Ada I think you have a way to go. How long??
sweet photos, kell. thanks for sharing them.
now that i work, i miss the hummers that hang right outside my computer area window. i bet they have interesting nests now. they were getting strands of hair from my montana's (one of my goldens) blanket for days and days whenever it was sunny.
perhaps i can lure hummers at work. i'm thinking of starting a little "garden" there. here's what i've done so far. you think one small pot a week? lol.
Boy kell how often have I wished that we had lived where I could have a garden all year round, it would be exciting to see their nest. I do have bird nests at the bottom of my garden, but the Hummers are so tiny, and facinating.
Thats one of the many things I miss about north california All the different hummingbirds and of course the perfect weather nice photos thanks for sharing
Wonderful photos Kell. You and your camera take excellent pics!!
We had about 3 days two weeks ago that it got into the teens at night. I thought all the daffs were gonna freeze but they made it. They are all in bloom now. Tulips will be about another month. We are possibly going to get snow this weekend and really high winds today. Nasty weather!!!
Annapet, that little deck looks like a great place to get a container garden going. Have fun filling it Up!!
Say .. One of my Hummer photos is going to be the summer banner. We will be able to enjoy a hummer all summer long while being on DG.
;-D
Oh kell, they're SO cute!
Two words come to mind though.
Zone envy!!!
Such fabulous pics Kell. Waiting on our only hummer to start coming back in any time now. Have had my feeders up for almost 2 weeks but no sign of them yet
Kell, those are some wonderful photos of the baby hummers. I love hummers, besides putting out feeders for them I have lots of plants that provide food for them. They include; Cardinal Plant (our native lobelia), hardy fushia, hollyhock, glads, bee balm, etc.
Donna, it won't be long before you should start to see some hummers. Here is a link to the annual spring migration map. I keep on top of their movement with this site.

I love your hummers Kell!!! I appreciate being missed - I've been reading, but there is so much popping on DG this time of the year that by the time I finish reading I cannot remember what I was going to say - plus, I'm addicted to Idol and it's on three times a week now and we, my grand girls and I IM each other all through the shows and make our selections and discuss the performers. So, that's how it goes here. Wonderful hummer story, they are such precious birdies...
