I have 2 boston ferns in my home i purchased them last year during the spring and kept them of my porch until fall and brought them in. They were doing terrific but now getting lots of brown fronds and dropping leaflets like crazy. I decided to prune out all the dead or ugly fronds and decided to check the pot. I couldn't believe how root bound this fern was!!! It has no potting soil left that is visible. It is in the standard size hanging basket pot. I am definetly going to have to find a bigger pot to put it in today. I definetly advise you to check your ferns. I now see why it is not doing well now. If anyone has tips for repotting ferns or pruning them up will be appreciated as I will finish the first one today and start on the other.
