rylaff....that's a great picture! I have several questions....what to you have your lily potted in? (soil-wise) Also, what kind of pump and/or filter are you using? And last, but not least, what type lily is that with the red leaves? It's beautiful.

I am using that soiless pottimg material that I got from Lowes. My pump is a Little Giant, 1650 gph (it has to pump a waterfall). I have a separate pump for my filter. My filter is outside the pond and has a built in UV light. And I think that waterlily is Albert Greenburg (have to look at the tag to be absolutley sure). I got a bunch of lilies and lotus from texaswaterlilies.com.

Both great photos! Wow, Rylaff, that water is beautiful! Sigh. It must be so warm in Florida and Texas. Imagine being able to put your lilies outside already, and imagine being able to play in the water like that in early March. I'm always jealous of your springtime weather, but once summer comes, I like it here! LOL

I made a list of stuff to order from Texaswaterlilies, and then looked at what I already have and asked myself if I really needed to put in another pond!!! LOL My 'eyes' are bigger than my pond, alas! But I might do it any, I mean, I can grow them in big pots, right?? People who are joyful about their work grow joyful plants! And look at the fun they are having!

Lotus grow well in big round pots.

Yes, I've been reading up on that! This is a slippery slope for me...

I have the lotus tubers that I got from texaswaterlilies.com in large pots. Just planted them the other day and already they are shooting up pads.

Mine are just floating, waiting for me to plant them, and they are already sending up pads to the surface.....I'm SO ready for spring and summer to arrive!
:)

Today it is 33 degrees and there is a sprinkling of snow on the ground. My lotus and my tropical plants are all still in the greenhouse. This stinks. I am SO ready for the weather to be above 60 degrees! I'll settle for 60!
