Gotta rant and gripe

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

All of a sudden this afternoon when I tried to read my e-mail I was met with a block that said comcast didn't recognize something etc., put in password, do this and that. Upshot was Comcast checked everything, was super, as usual, and said the problem was with Apple. Called Apple and went through all the voice activated junk, which never offered a link to a live person. Much later a live body came on the line and asked about models, serial numbers, name, address and finally let me tell him my e-mail didn't work and had a "working offline" notation up on the top line. Well after checking my Mac's serial number he said that model no longer had any customer support, but for $ 49.00 or so , I could buy coverage that would enable him to assist me. I was, am, and will remain, totally disgusted with what Apple touts as 'customer service'. By the way, after trying a different password it started working again. I like my iMac a lot, even if I don't know how to use it, and the Apple Discussions forums have been a great help too, but their 1-800 phone number sucks.
I was so mad I had to vent somewhere. At least I didn't throw the computer through the window. (close to it tho)
