Free leaves - Join AVSA

Crossville, TN(Zone 6b)

I do not think this has been mentioned Linda :

RE: Pat Hancock's Free 10 Leaves Offer

Pat has been getting requests for her free 10 leaves offer from people who have PREVIOUSLY joined AVSA (prior to May 1, 2005).

The offer was made by Pat to encourage people who have NEVER belonged to AVSA to join, in an effort to increase membership. AVSA has an abundance of good info to offer growers that want to grow beautiful plants. The leaves Pat sends are 10 Buckeyes of her choice (cash value $15 - $20). AVSA membership is $25, making Pat's offer a really good deal for new members.
In the future, if you join AVSA because of this offer, please remember to mention Pat Hancock on your application. Remember to send a copy of your membership letter from AVSA to Pat. If you will enclose your phone #, Pat will call you when the leaves are shipped. This offer is good in USA & Canada, though leaves will take longer to arrive in Canada. Here's a repost of the original offer:

A SPECIAL OFFER TO NEW AVSA MEMBERS ONLY

Pat Hancock, hybridizer of Buckeye african violets, is offering 10 free leaves (her choice) to every new member that joins AVSA on or after May 1, 2005. The purpose of this offer is to increase AVSA membership.
If you have not yet joined AVSA, go to www.avsa.org. Click on 'Membership' to join. In the 'Comments' box, please list Pat Hancock as the person who recommended you.
The recipient must pay $6.00 ($9.00 USD Canadian residents) for postage and include a photocopy of your membership confirmation letter from AVSA. This special offer is for US and Canadian residents. (You *might* want to include an extra $3.00 so Pat can send you her catalog, too!)
***Include your phone # so Pat can call you when the leaves are shipped.
Send the above info & payment to:

Dang... I didn't know about this when I joined in December! But I'd have joined with or without the free leaves offer, and I'll probably place an order with her at some point anyway, so that's OK. I mean, it's not like I really need to put down another 10 leaf pots right now. ;-)

Jill, you are still a newbie to the Society. Read the third line about May 2005. It would not hurt to ask. Also, you have been out of town and away from a computer, right? Linda

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

LOL... I'm using Dad's computer tonight! But I won't get caught up on everything here until later next week, I'm sure. Looking at all the new posts, I may never get caught up with this forum, LOL!

You're right... can't hurt to ask... I did join after May '05, but I didn't know to put the bit about Pat in my comments section.

So what do I need to do if I just joined but did not know about this? Who do I email to give my phone number to? Or do I have to snail mail my information to her?

I joined but I was not sent a confirmation from AVSA. Where was I supposed to get that at?

As I was reading my AVSA magazine, I think it was the article about the AVSA convention, there was a mention that my AVSA membership card had been printed on the wrapper of my new magazine. Oops. I tore off the brown wrapper and disposed of it without really looking at it, as I was eager to see the actual magazine.
