I don’t know if anyone is like me and loves to scour the internet for pictures of African violets, but on the off chance that there is someone out there who is crazy like me, I thought I’d post some websites with great pictures.
The first one is of pictures from Janet Stromborg, the hybridizer of the “Allegro” series of African violets.

She’s got several killer pictures of Painted Silk and Peppermint Girl (love those girl leaves), some interesting pictures of African violet sports and chimeras. The down side to her website is that you can’t copy any of the pictures to your computer. It’s all “look, but don’t touch”. :)
The next website is Russian (I think. Well, Slavic of some sort with a completely different alphabet.) But the pictures for the most part are pretty good. Sometimes the color is a little off (I think) but that’s not unusual. I think certain colors are difficult to photograph correctly and unless you’re a professional, forget it.

Anyway, I’m always finding new stuff so if I think of any others, I’ll post them. Enjoy. :)

Like to look at pretty pictures?
Marilee,
Thanks for sharing. I have found two that I must have. Well, I found lots that I really want but two that stood out. I like "Rainbow's Neon Electra" from the first site and "Buckeye Cranberry Sparkler" from the second site. I just have to have those two. What about the rest of you. What are your favorites?

"Rebel's Splatter Kake" and any of the frilly/lighter edged ones! That site is a drooler for sure, thanks!

Marilee,
These photos can be saved if you know how. What they are doing on this site is to using javascript to disable the "right click" button. So, if you are using Firefox, go to the site, go up to "tools", click on "options". Then click on the "content" button, and go down to where it says " Enable JaveScript". De-tick this box. This will allow you to right click and you can save the photos. Save as many as you like and when you get through, just go back through the same process and tick the "Enable JavaScript" button to fix it back like it was. By using JavaScript, it allows people to disable your "right click" feature. Turning JavaScript off will allow you to be able to right click on things.
If you are like me, you like to save photos as a reference or to be able to identify your own plants. I personally do not see anything wrong with that. I'm working on my own online photo album, and I do not mind people saving my photos. In fact, I think that it is a compliment to me that they even want to save them. I can see why some people do no want people to copy them, if they are going to use them for some money-making idea or on their own website and take credit for them. But I see nothing wrong with saving them for my own personal use. I have too many plants to remember what all of them are called and I need pictures to help me keep track of them. So that is why I like to save them. Anyway, that is how you save them.

Well the thanks goes to Marilee for finding the site. I just know how to save the pictures. Isn't it great how we all work together to do things? One of us alone can't do a whole lot, but when we all put our knowledge and experience togther, we have such a vast amount of information. It is great being a part of DG.
JesseK
Jesse, I could kiss you. THANK YOU!!!!
You know, I only save photos for my own personal reference. I don't try to do anything with them to make money or take credit for them either.
I'm somewhat challenged when it comes to computer stuff like that and I really appreciate your help. Thanks again. :)
Marilee

Thanks for the links Marilee, the first one is in our sticky, but not the second, Have added it to my to do list when I revise the sticky!
There are a lot of gallery links in the sticky, near the bottom! Several are Russian sites with beautiful photos to drool over!
Yeah, I have found lots of great Russian sites. I wonder if a person has a lousy winter climate, there's nothing else to do in winter but tend to your African violets indoors. [grin]
Marilee
sure would brighten things up if all you see is white winter!!
some of the flowers on the sites, I just drool over!
I think that you are right Marilee- not being able to work in my yard in the winter and tired of seeing gray and uninteresting landscape is what turned me into an AV fan- well that and all the nice folks in this forum.
Thanks Taz. Yes at least one is in our Sticky ! You should check it out links galore for all kinds of beauties ! I have several Russian AV's I grew and have been sharing a lot of them :)) I like them and they grow well.
AVSZ even has some of the Russians registered and on the AVSA web sight there are a couple links of Russina African violets. " I think same links in our Sticky ?
Thanks for sharing Marilee
I loved the blooms with music. Thanks
