Hello,
Signed onto Dave's last week. I have seen a few friends drift over this way from the 'other garden website' and thought I might check it out. [g] I am from Massachusetts. I have been gardening for 25 years and have always been organic. I don't have a prairie garden but wish I did. Sadly, my conditions won't allow for that so at least I can have the name. [g]
Looking forward to getting to know everyone here once I learn to navigate the site.
Hi, anymore room? :-) New from Mass
Hi PM2,
Welcome aboard. Hope you like it here!
Al
hello from your neighbor in upstate new york. you will love it here.
Thanks Herbie! I am sure I will. That is an interesting name..Wappingers Falls. I love it. I imagine it is pretty cold there. We have snow on the ground here in Eastern Massachusetts and more expected this week end.
Can't wait for spring!
:-)
Hi Al,
I am not used to this format, and I am finding responses seem to run into each other. Sorry I missed your post the first time I looked at the thread. Thanks for the welcome, I am sure I will enjoy being here. :-)
Hi welcome. My favorite place to order seeds Is Prairie Moon Nursery. I still post to the other site, but more here than there. I like the Minnesota forum.
PrairieMoon2 - we have a recent Northeast forum for you to join.
Thanks zen and pirl...
Yes, I love the Prairie Moon Nursery too. I was going to order from them this year but I ended up receiving trades for the seed I was looking for. Thanks for the tip on the Northeast forum. I am going to try that.
:-)
There's always room for more! Welcome from Carolina!
welcome hope enjoy here lots going on..
Welcome Prairie
I've only been here a week myself and it already feels like home. You will love it. I used to live out in western MA in the Berkshires. And my mother now lives in Sturbridge. I love Mass.
Welcome aboard
Wormboy - welcome to you, too! Great to have another Long Islander!!! We are way under-represented. Shame on L.I. gardeners.
Hello and thank you Rosykay and Hope. :-)
Rosy are you anywhere near the Blue Ridge Mountain area? Do I have the right state? [g] I have only driven through the Carolinas on our way to Florida and back. I am trying to remember where in North Carolina I was. Also, is that the state that has all the furniture stores?
Hope, I never have been to Oklahoma, but I do email with someone who lives there. She was explaining to me how bad a drought they were having about two months ago. Have you had any relief from the drought yet?
Hi wormboy, I used to go out to Sturbridge Village a lot and I just loved it there. We are closer to Boston. Did you garden in the Berkshires? I wondered if it was a short growing season.
Hello pirl, lucky you in a zone 7 garden on Long Island. Warm enough to winter over hydrangeas without bud kill? [g]
Thank you all for the welcome. :-)
Hi Prairie Moon! North Carolina does have the big furniture stores. I know of Hickory but there are others.
Loved taking the Blue Ridge Parkway, right from the start, and then we finished and ended up in the town of Albemarle, the birthplace of the real PIRL, my former neighbor who taught me to garden.
You said you're from outside of Boston. Acton? Maynard? Westford? Cape Ann? Cape Cod? We love MA but Cape Cod is our favorite. We go every June to celebrate the end of planting everything DH grows under lights, downstairs.
