Spring Bulbs are here at Home Depot zone 5!!!!

Brimfield, MA(Zone 5a)

Yippee!!! I just got back from Home Depot and what a haul I took in there:

Dahlia's Dinnerplat mixed colors: 6 bulbs for 6.96 (I got 2 packs of these to see which ones turn up)
Gladiolus mixed colors: 75 bulbs at 6.96
Daylilies, Dream Legacy: 2 bulbs at 4.98
Daylilies, Grape Magic: 6 bulbs at 6.96
Lollypop Lilium 10 bulbs at 9.96
Caladiums, Rosebud: 18 bulbs at 6.96 (I got 2 packages of these, what a bargain!)
Cannas, mixed colors: 5 bulbs at 4.98
Cannas, The President: 5 bulbs at 4.98
Liatris Spicata (a favorite of mine): 40 bulbs at 6.96
Dahlia, Star's Favorite: 3 bulbs at 4.98
Dahlia, Park Princess: 3 bulbs at 4.98
Hosta, Sieboldiana: 6 bulbs at 6.96

The store didn't have them in the usual spot near the pots, orchids and seeds. For some strange reason, I found them in a their own little kiosk out side of the tiling section. I doubt I would have even found them if I hadn't been sent to the hardware department to find some chain for the shop lights I picked up for my seed starting. BTW, the shop lights were double lights and marked down to 7.95 which I was delighted to discover thinking I'd have to pay closer to 20.00. All in all, it was a very succesful shopping trip.

Still 7.95, eh? Shop lights, here I come. Enjoy all of your loot, Megan.

Yes K.James, they had plenty of them left too. I grabbed 3 of them for that price. Funny they are priced the same in each state isn't it? I'd think they'd be pricier in certain states, but what do I know, lol?

Megan,
It sounds like you've been busy since we last spoke about zinnias. I have to go to Ocean State as someone tipped me off that one of the Ocean states (in CT) had the gladiolus stakes you recommended. I hope the one near my mother in law has the stakes this weekend.

Well Sue, do you want me to check the one near me? Is that closer to you than CT? Probably not, but I'm sure you would find them at closer JL's if you have any near you. Oh yes, I have been busy, you are right on that one. I need to get some more stakes for the dahlias I ordered anyway, so it's not out of my way to check on it. Let me know and I'll check when I am out and about tomorrow.

Megan,
My mother in law lives near the one in Foxboro. So we will be down in her area for a family event this Sunday. So hopefully I can pop over there and check if they have them (a 10 minute ride from her house). I also just sent her an email to see if she has time to go there this Friday to check (she hates driving in snow so Thursday will be out!). But thanks for the offer -- I thought you might be interested to check for your own purposes. From what I remember about this store it is hit or miss what they have at each store so there is no guarantee given that the store carrying them is one located in CT.

Sue,

I went to Job Lot and they had a ton of the stakes for 89 cents. They also had the peony stakes, which I didn't price, but if memory serves me correct they are about 2.99. The cool thing about the visit there today, was they had a pop-up cold frame about 5 feet long and 3 feet wide for 24.99. There was a display model set up and from looking it up and down, it seemed simple enough to build, now I'll have to google the vendor to see what I can find about them. Let me know if you get your stakes this weekend, I hope so!!!
