Horses: Semi-frequent de-worming using paste tubes

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

How do you do it? For those of us that train our horse frequently (i.e. at least a few days per week), a "deworming day" disrupts the schedule! Chubacca is worked & ridden nearly every day, and on "deworming day", I've always assumed no work will get done. He'll simply be brushed, feet-picked, mane combed, wormed, fed a good cookie, and sent for supper. He's a saint at taking his medicine. Cookie in hand (once he's sniffed it, b/c he knows those are good yummies), I can slide the tube into his mouth, squirt away, and 98% of it ends up down his throat.

Is this what everybody else does?

(*clarification* Not to be confused with daily wormers, or worming by any other method than that of a paste tube, for those of us that de-worm our horses with a rotating schedule, varying worming medicines and performing this routine every few months. Also, question not to be confusing with type of wormers and/or frequency.)
