Bob, have you taken a look at http://www.petfinder.org

You might be able to be more specific about what type of dog you are looking for and/or connect with a specific breen rescue. That's what I did with my Basset(hooligans) I went directly to a basset hound rescue in So Cal and adopted two of my three. The third was a private adoption, but she also came from So Cal.

Perhaps you be able to specify more precicely what you want. I know that when the timing is right, all the pieces will fall into place! good luck!!

Laurie that was a very dangerous link - sometimes I really miss having a friend in the house.

what stops you Anita? (if I'm not being too nosey)

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm not home enough - the poor baby/babies would be home all day by themselves - not very fair I think

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

yes, you are correct. I'm lucky that I work from a home office (slowly being transformed into a plant room!). So they keep me company.

some day - probably when I retire or win lotto and only have to work part time
