ID Help, please

Macon, IL(Zone 5b)

I really have tried to figure these two out, but no luck. Any assistance would be appreciated. This is H. ? #1. Leaves are smooth - both sides, with center vein. (They kind of remind me of H. cv Joy, or h. fungii) Thanks! Karen

And this is H. ? #2 - long, thin leaves, with center vein. Leaves remind me of a pubicalyx, but lighter green. Thanks, Karen

Hi Karen...

H. fungii has very faint (sometimes darker and more obvious) venation with a carnosa shaped leaf (in general terms)... Are those pink specks on the leaves, it is a new leafe? It looks red or burgundy. Closer clearer shot of the venation...back of leaf is important too. But leaves are impossible....

RE. pic. #2

Does the leaf have a 'hard' surface or is it soft...are the veins really visible?

Does it have clear sap?

Are there any spekles or is it just green?

I have an idea but need more info....and then it is still a guess.

I apologize for my poor picture-taking skills - I promise I won't post anymore until I take a class! LOL

Karen... you might try standing further away from the subject matter....and then using the crop feature on your Photo Manipulation program to bring it closer. If you have held the camera still enough, the resolution will be OK (better...LOL). Hey...we all start someplace!
