wanted coneflowers

Greenfield, IN(Zone 5a)

Does anyone have extra bulbs they would be willing to part with? I would love to trade. fellow gardening lover, Rachel

Rachel,

Just a hello from Noblesville. Are you sure you are talking about coneflowers? They don't grow from bulbs do they?

Monroe, NC(Zone 7b)

I have pink coneflower seeds if you want some. Later in the spring I'm sure a bunch of volunteers will be around that I can trade. But like Makshi said....they don't grow from bulbs. Perhaps you are thinking of a different plant?

Greenfield, IN(Zone 5a)

I have bulbs on the mind. I have been warming mine up and potting some. Yes I would like some of your volunteer coneflowers. Do you see anything you like on my trade list?

Either the clematis of a baby hydrangia would be great. I am not good at rooting things though. Are either already rooted?

Nobelsville Indiana! Do you belong to the garden club? I stopped by their booth at the parade last year. Everyone was so nice! Both plants have nice dormate root clumps from mature plants. They are ready to thrive this year. I am going to the Irvington Indianapolis garden club meeting tonight at 7:00. I would really like to go to one of the Nobersville meetings if you could tell me where and when the meetings occure.

Hi Rachael. I would love either the hydrangia or the clematis. How about I send you several clumps of echinatia and several clumps of "Marks Apollo Hardy Sunflower" in trade for one of each. Does that work for you? Do you think it might be best to trade around the end of March to let your ground thaw enough to plant the new babies because they won't be dormant. It also lets them get well out of the ground and a little bigger before i dig them.

Good idea to ship mine later so I can put them in the ground right away.
With your nice weather you can plant the hydranga and clematisright now. They have green growth already.
Just ship mine when the weather is better in zone 5. If you forget thats ok too.

Hi Rachael: I got the clematis and hydrangia on Friday. They are HUGE and already just dying to start bustin out growing! They arrived in great shape. I won't forget your echinatia. I already am starting to see some poking out. Thanks again for being so generous.

Hi Rachael: I sent your echinatia and other goodies today! The echinatia clump is big! You should carefully divide it up. You can probably get lots of plants out of it.

Have fun.
