I have seen reference to Ma's violets and Maas violets. Are these one in the same or different strains?
Ma's vs Maas
Looks like this is a night for research. Best I can tell "Ma's" violets were owned by Dr. Ralph and Olive Ma Robinson, and "Maas" violetswere developed by Max Maas

Wow, that is a nice little bit of trivia. I was going to guess that they were the same. : )
jan..think your correct..i was reading that the violet barn is very near to where i took basic training in the Air force...in Geneva NY....haven't been back since basic training .in 1892....lol....
Maas was a great Hybridizer :)) Most of them Vintage and most looked for of the African violet family. I'm pretty sure their Canadian Hyrbrids also. It's super hard to find his plants . First Class there are 91 varieties ! And I'm sure more not in FC/
And of course everyone knows Ma's are Rob's wife . She does the Standards he does the Minis :))
Her plants are fairly new not vintage mostly from the 2000 up/ She has 40 plant varieties in FC.
Thanks Allison.

I have Maa's Southern Springtime and Maa's Arbor Glen. Are the vintage?
Yes to the best of my knowledge
Maas' Arbor Glen (W. Ott/M. Maas) Double pink. Medium green, plain. Standard
I could not find a Maa's Southern Springtime ?
Sure it's not Mac's Southern Springtime ?
You are right again V_T Southern Springtime is Mac's. Thanks for keeping me straight!!! lol
Bob, 1892?????? You must be old !!!!!
I just received Maa's Angela (clackamus foliage) leaves to put down. (of course I drooled when I got them - they were a sub for one that I ordered but didn't come)
