CLOSED: HAVE.......CROWN OF THORNS cuttings............TRADE FOR
Hi Barbra,
I have a vine that is extremely hardy.
I live in Philadelphia PA and cant kill it no matter how hard I try lOL!!
Once established it is unkillable.
It is a fairly rapid growing vine that has leaves like a clematis.
It forms a huge fluffy head across its entire legnth that opens up with white flowers and smells like jasmine.
One year I left it alone and it went about 15 to 20 feet.
The scent is strong and I dont care for Jasmine so I trade it al the time.
I pull up a nice lil rooted section and 3 weeks later its back LOL!!
I would love to aquire some of your Crown of thorns.
I also have for trade a few different fig trees I cut from
Orange daylillies yeah the ones everyone up here as lOL!
I also have a few Hostas and purple iris rhizomes
My main thread here is Plumerias.
I have close to 200 now but only a few rooted seedling tips to trade(all cut from my root stock that I use for grafting)
Id love to hear from you.
what i have left is rooted cuttings of this crown. i have never seen it bloom so i am not sure what color the bloom is. some one gave me a garbage bag full of cuttings and one person just doesn't need a bag of crown of thorns. hahahaha i had huge pieces. these cuttings are all about 4-5 inches but all have leaves now. i would be happy to send you one. are your plumeria seedlings all the same color? do you know the color of the flower? what other kinds of plants do you want? i would like to have as many different plumeria as you could send plus one of the vines. i have a very small red leafed red flowering queen elizabeth lobelia. seedling of white texas star hibiscus (started from seeds i got in a trade). seedling of chamois hollyhock started from ebay seeds. one white eucomus bulb i could send. red spider lily bulbs. malvaviscus arboreus drummondii.....a shrub hummingbirds love. lmk. barb
Hey Barb,
Thanks for replying.
The Plumeria I have for trade are tips that I cut off of seedlings so I could use the base for grafting. Rather than throw away the tips I root them as they grow quite well.
They are all between 4 and 7 inches I only know the seed parent colors and couldnt tell you which tip is which. Because they are seedlings the colors could be anything. I suspect probably white/ yellow and pink. They will most likely bloom at the end of next summer 07, Most plumie seedlings bloom on the 3rd year.
The vine was cut and traded 3 weeks ago, it has grown back to precut size already LOL!! I have a nice piece of that too..again heh..
Dont forget Ihave fig tree cuttings, rooted and non rooted.
I am interested in the Crown of thorns Minimum of 3 to 5 cuttings up to 10 if they are different, I dont know if you can tell by leaf shape color stem color etc...
Ill need your wisdom there.
The Lobelia sounds wonderful also.
How big does it get?
Is it the cascading type or bush?
I have no idea what a eucomus is LOL!
Please do tell me. I found 1 picture that looks like an amaryllis type leaf with a stalk?
I say yes to that too if thats it.
Red Spider Lily bulbs sound cool too.
So...
Many Rooted Plumeria cuttings
Jasmine Vine
and what else would you like?
Tell me what youl send of what I said I liked and then tell me what youd like to get in return besides the vine, thats a done deal.
Like how many plumeria cuttings are you hoping for? etc...
I want you to be happy, im sure you will... heh... I dont dissapoint.
Ok Ill wait to hear from you.
Michael ;^)
is this confederate jasmine vine? i thought this was an unknown vine and i wanted to see it. i already have the jasmine vine. how big is this flower on the vine? what other plants do you have? do plumeria have names? and once these bloom would you be able to tell what the names are? i was mistaken i guess on the name of the lobelia. i can't find it either although the little nursery that i got the plant called it the queen elizabeth. there is a queen victoria lobelia that is similar but this foliage is red. queen victoria is reddish green. and to tell you the truth i have never seen one of these get big. don't know what it does. i thought it was just a large, red leafed, red flowering plant. but the one i have is tiny. i don't know how to send hyperlinks but if you go to daves plant files and type in eucomis you will see a picture. it is also called pineapple lily. the other name for spider lilies is lycoris radiata. you can see that in daves files too. i have bunches of those. and on the crown of thorns i hate to say it but i threw away large branches because no one was interested and i couldn't keep it all. and to my knowledge these were cuttings from the same plant so they are all the same. i could only send a couple of those. now that i have them rooted there are several people who have asked for them. also, type in lobelia queen victoria on daves and scroll down the page till you see this one. thanks. barb
I havent a clue about the vines name.
Small fluffy flowers form in a large fluffy cotton like mass all along the top of it.
Strong jasmine scent
I am happy to take a picture on Wednesday and mail it to you
The plumies are top cuttings from seedlings, not named varieties, Unknown colors.
I also have many fig cuttings, 3 types, both rooted and unrooted.

did you look up the plants i was telling you about? one other question about the vine.........does it stay in place or does it send runners underground and come up all over the place? i have had trumpet vine here and i never want another vine like that. hahaha i have a fig tree and much as i like the trees i really don't have room for another. also, if it isn't a lot of trouble i would love to see a picture of this vine. have you ever thought of posting the picture on the vines and climbers forum to see if someone could identify it?
The vine stays put, it has never sent out runners.
I havent posted because I have never cared about it.
I ussually rip it out as it grows and throw it away LOL!
Now everyone wants it but me HAHA!!
I did look up the plants you said you have.
I am interested in the Crown of thorns
The Lobelia sounds wonderful also.
Eucomus is cool also.
Red Spider Lily bulbs sound cool too.
how many spider lily bulbs would you like? keep in mind that i have hundreds of these so this is the only thing i have that you can have as many as you would like. hahaha again, i can send 2-3 crown of thorns........these are all 4-5 inches tall with a little green leaf. also, one tiny lobelia and one eucomus. the eucomis bulbs are large. i bought them and just haven't had time to plant them. and this bulb is the white one. i also want you to be happy and feel you got a fair trade. i want one of your vines. and the plumeria.........as many colors as you have if you know. do you hybridize the plumeria? or what are you doing when you are grafting? are you making new plants?
I am grafting difficult to root ones to good root stock.
I have no clue on colors as they are seedlings and could be anything.
Most likely white / yellow or pink Ill send you 6 plus one rooted yellow cutting.
so 7 plumie cuttings and 1 vine
for
3 crown of thorns, one tiny lobelia and one eucomus
Spider lillies = Id like at least 4, but as many as you wanna send.
I have plenty of room for them and they are gorgeous!!
Ill mix them with my Iris and Glads
I am hybridizing plumies but no where near ready to say what I have.
I shall have some real stunners im sure.
