have yellow iris to trade for hardy water lilies or lotus tubers
yellow water/bog iris
would you consider selling some?? Like about 20+ of them. I am in a new place with a pond that has never been planted. I have been able to find some LA Iris mostly blues and Blue Flag Iris
donna, I can send a bunch in a flat rate postage for the 7.50 rate...should be able to get about that many in it.........I originally bought only 3 plants from lilypons.com @$5 I thought they were very pricey about 15 years ago..they multiply like rabbits..today I have hundreds maybe thousands, my husband thins them out around the Natural, earthen ponds with a back hoe and dumps them in a pile to rot...(I cringe)........I"ll send you a flat rate box and you can return the postage and keep me in mind when your pond gets established
OOOOOOOOoooooooooo I shouldn't have even pulled up the pictures..................HURRY SPRING!
Jackie would you be interested in some Swamp Hibiscus and Swamp Azaleas? I ordered some and would be glad to share with you for the irises or I can pay postage. I had the Swamp Hibiscus around my huge septic bed at my old home. They were awesome. They get about 8' high and 5 to 6' wide. Have pink with red center and white with red center but don't kow which is which. They are mixed. They are perennial and make lots of seed but have never had a seedling come up for me. The Azaleas I have never had before but are supposed to be pink. Will find the link so you can see
I have nuttin' but wanted to compliment you....beautiful setting!!!!!!!!!!
Are these the swamp hibiscus?......If you have roots for differents ones I would like them...I have a ton of these hot pink or magenta colored ones, they do well here.....azalea don't do well my soil is extremely alkaline.......I notice you are into birds and photos.......check out my diary under pictures
Thanks, Tucker
You have nothing?...My word!..You have Colorado!
Absolutely awesome pics Jackie! Come to think of it, I think we first met on a pond post. LOL
Jackie

yes kaleem, the iris are quite beautiful......I have some blue ones that bloom here in the spring, as well. they don't multiply quite as well as the yellow and are not quite as large
donna, got u some off in the mail today.......
I want a pond. All I have is a container water garden and it isn't the same as a pond. You have a very lovely one.
Very pretty indeed. If you run short on trades I have extras too. I cannot believe how quickly they spread.
Jackie your pond is so beautiful. Hopefully mine will be as pretty by next summer. Can't believe people lived here 16 years and never did anything with the yard and pond. I pretty well have a blank canvas here. LOL can't believe you shipped already. We are supposed to be between 32 and 37 for Monday but then back to summer like weather for the rest of the week so will probably ship Tuesday. I also have a couple of small Lobelia Cardinalis I can send if you want them.
Here's a link for Swamp Azalea. I thought I had read that it was pink but checked back with the e-Bay site and they don't say if white or pink.

Here info on the Swamp Hibiscus I bought. Can't tell by your pic if they are the same but will find close up pic of mine to show you
"HIBISCUS LASIOCARPOS, ROSE MALLOW (WELL ROOTED PLANT IN A 3 INCH POT) IS A ZONE 5 VIGOROUS, ERECT, OFTEN WOODY-BASED PERENNIAL NATIVE TO THE SOUTHERN UNITED STATES OCCURING IN WET SOILS ALONG PONDS AND SLOUGHS, IN DITCHES OR IN WET WOODS, SOMETIMES FORMING LARGE COLONIES. ROSE MALLOW GROWS 4-6' TALL AND FEATURES SHOWY, HOLLYHOCK-LIKE, 5 PETALED, WHITE OR ROSE FLOWERS (4-6" DIAMETER) WITH MAGENTA-CRIMSON EYES. FLOWERS ARE BORNE IN THE UPPER LEAF AXILS. EACH FLOWER HAS A PROMINENT AND SHOWY CENTER STAMINAL COLUMN. LONG, MID-SUMMER TO FALL BLOOM PERIOD. OVATE, SERRATE LEAVES (TO 6" LONG). GROW IN AVERAGE, MEDIUM WET TO WET SOIL IN FULL SUN. TOELRATES SOME LIGHT SHADE, BUT FULL SUN PRODUCES BEST FLOWERING AND IS THE BEST ENVIRONMENT FOR RESISTING POTENTIAL DISEASES. TOLERATES SUMMER HEAT AND HUMIDITY, BUT SOIL SHOULD BE KEPT MOIST THROUGHOUT THE GROWING SEASON. LANDSCAPE USE - A LARGE PLANT FOR THE REAR OF THE PERENNIAL BORDER, NATIVE PLANT GARDEN - ALSO EFFECTIVE WHEN GROUPED IN MOIST LOCATIONS - ALONG THE EDGE OF A POND OR STREAM"

Hi Jackie,
I found you! You posted on the plants for trade for my red fountain grass a week ago. It is a miscanthus sinensis undine. My plant is an eyecatching 5 foot round mounding fountain grass with pinkish red feathers and green stalks. I would have nice dormate root divisions ready to go now. I also have a 5 foot green, white ribed vase grass miscanthus sinensis of some sort.
My dads pond is lacking color. I would be interested in some of your extra water plants.
Rachel
can do rachel....think a flat rate box will work for your grasses? I can get 15 to 20 iris in one in exchange
donna .you can keep the iris roots damp and they will be fine in a box til you can plant them
Jackie did you want any of the Swamp Hibiscus, Swamp Azalea, or Lobelia Cardinalis?? or just postage?? I know by the end of summer I will have some stuff to share back. Waiting to see what comes back at my old house since Katrina destroyed it. May have some stuff by late spring you may want.
why don't you just send postage back and we will see how we fare when new growth starts a month from now.......ok with u? Lord, I felt for the gardens thru Katrina.........Bless u
no problem Jacki. Are you in the addy exchange or have Pay Pal?? Will get money right out to you.
address exchange, no hurry .....wait til u get the pkg and make sure you are happy with it..........
Oh how beautiful. Can't wait to have the pond planted. Hope my little helper doesn't mind wet feet lol. I found 25 of the Blue Flag Iris for 12 dollars on e-Bay. I got 2 orders so should have plenty. Waiting for them to come in now
Hi Jackie they arrived today. Thanks so much. Now have to get my little helper boy over to get them all planted for me. Will get your postage back in the mail to you in the morning
