I plan to order Phlox Katherine. I read about her years ago and never have found her at any nurseries. I finally found her in a catalogue and plan to order three of her. I have David which I love. He is mildew resistant and that is what I look for in a phlox. I also plan to add some more fruit trees and other trees to the woods around the property.

Phlox paniculata 'Katherine'
Phlox p.'Katherine' received the highest ratings in the four-year evaluation trials done by the Chicago Botanic Garden from 1993-1996. It was the only phlox which received a good rating in all categories. It exhibited heavy flower coverage, a robust habit and less than 10% mildew infection except in 1994, a year of abnormally high temperatures and humidity. 'Katherine' has lavender florets with white eyes and 3-4' tall.

Loon......she is lovely.....I may have to add her to my collection of phlox too. I am told that if you put different varieties together they will all turn to one color, pink or purple.....anyone know if that is true???

Oh by the way, I must tell you, I am so happy you have moved up north, you are so knowledgeable, and I love your gardens. Can't wait to see them this spring/summer....

The genus Heuchera is making a big appearance in my garden this year. I have never seen a plant which gives us so much for so little, they have the most vivid colors and striking patterns of any plant I have ever seen. When all the other plants are tucked away there icy beds' Heuchera is still there, with it's joyful splashes of colors as if to say come, come and sit in the garden today. I am new and I am Richard

I have been adding Hydrangeas.
New in 2005-06 Endless Summer, Annabella, Limelight and Forever & Ever.
I also added some new shrubs...Viburnums, Dwarf Alberta Spruce, Serviceberry and Salix (Willow, bush form ) with the white, pink and green foliage...forget the name.

I also added a Hydrangea. 'All Summer Beauty'. She seems to like her new spot. I hope i planted her far enough away from the deck.
Also added Viburnum'Aurora'; Kalmia 'Sarah'; Carex oshimensis; Helleborus; Heuchera; Tricyrtis; Pulmonaria; and a bunch of plants i winter sowed.
Most were bought at Bluestone Perenials during a really great sale.

oh and roses. Cecile Brunner Cl, New Dawn Cl, and Zephrine Droughin Cl.

I need Gardeners Anonymus. Well, I guess when I get into something, I really go all in. Its that darn Gardening OCD kicking in.

Ness;-)

Oh by the way,
DH found some beautiful Cedar Arbor and Benches at Kohl's this week! On clearance- Normally like $200 for $50! I couldnt pass it up, and was surprised at the quality for $50!
