Any recommendations for some low light houseplants that will grow pretty tall (about 2-5 feet or so)? My ficus needs lots of light, but most of my house does not get alot of light.
Low light plants
dracaenas do well in low light...they can get pretty tall. ; )
Here's a couple tall ones that've survived my dark house:
Dragon Tree

Florida Gold (here listed as Gold Dust)

And I haven't grown these following ones, but they should work well, also:
Corn Plant

Warnekei

Also, I have a Spineless Yucca that grew tall enough to touch my ceiling (had to cut it down) that does well with hardly any light (even though it shouldn't), but I put it outside as soon as it gets warm enough.

Good luck on your quest!

Thank you a million times over
Oh, forgot to mention...dracaenas are sensitive to the chlorine (and flouride, if yours has it) in the tap water. If you set your water out 24 hrs or more in advance, they both evaporate out of the water.
I have to disagree that the Corn Plant will do well in low light.
It will be fine for a while, but will gradually deteriorate.
A good choice if you have a 'cool' spot with low light is Fatsia japonica.
Some of the Aglaonemas are quite large and do well in low light.
Some Sansevierias grow to 3 - 4' .
You can always go with old faithful: Aspidistra a.k.a Cast Iron Plant!

Thanks all!
The dragon tree is my choice. Mine is now 7 feet tall and still growing. I don't know what she will do when she is 8 ft. I have had her for several years. Someone thru her out at a plant place and she has lived here ever since.
This Draecena has been living on this walkway for over 10 years. At some point, the tops got a little too heavy, and it tipped over the handrail, but it is otherwise very healthy. Some natural lighting from Skylights in the celing, but that is it. It does very well, even when it is being neglected, and lived in the same pot for many, many years.
I finally enlisted some help getting it downstairs, and out the door so we could pot it up. The plant is so spread out now, that it was quite a challenge getting it down the stairs, and out of the store.

what plant do you have next to your dragon tree ?
I'm assuming you mean the purple plant in my 2nd photo?? Purple passion vine.
Have you considered something that will hang down? There are several low light plants that will thrive: pothos, some philodendrons. arrowhead plants (mine is syngonium podophyllum.) They are also climbing type plants and given a tree branch wrapped with sheet moss, will grow as tall as the branch you give them.
I saw a goldfish plant in a hanging basket that looked nice...that would do well in low light
