Ok , something happened to my Cordylines , 2 got some kind of fungus
at the top of the plants where the leaves are at the cane and the cane
got all mushy .. sniff ..sniff ..
Well i cut up the canes ( 3 inches ) and put some stright up and down and some laying down
and im not getting anygood results , 4 cane sections just didnt do anything. like dried up and
just became hollow tubes.
Does anyone have a good step by step on propgating these things.
Soil type , do i keep watering them so soil is moist , cane moist . ???
On the parts of the plants that had the roots , there poping back with new shoots
and one sent up a shoot about 2 inches away from the cane. Like it sprouted on its own.
need help again Cordyline Red Sister (Ti)
Well, perhaps your soil is too dense? They like really well draining media....like half perlite and half peatmoss... When you lay the logs horizontally, you want to "oooooch" it into the media so that only the top half of the log is above the soil and the other is below the soil. Air circulation is important....not 30 mph but some circulation which you may not be getting because of the high sides to the tray you have them in. Mine, when propagating, live out doors in the rain/sun...it IS warm.
Aside from that...looking good.
