Greetings,
I received a catalogue for "Spring Garden - Canada's Mail-Order Garden Centre Since 1918"
with my recent issue of Canadian Gardening. They are located in Oakville, ON. I thought some of the plants and prices looked OK, but I can't find them in the garden watchdog and wondered whether any of you have ordered from them and what your experiences have been.
Thanks,
Ann
PS I see they have a web site: http://www.springgardencanada.com
have you ordered from "Spring Garden" catalogue
Hi Ann. I just ordered from them for the first time. They are in Garden Watchdog at http://davesgarden.com/gwd/c/1474/ . There are negative, positive, and neutral comments about them. I have chosen to give them a try this one time. If I have a good experience with them - great! If I don't, it was my choice to take the chance.
I think I may try them out for a couple of things too. I wouldn't trust them for daylilies or Hostas maybe, but they have some decent prices on SOME things. Just a small order the first time to see how it goes.
Thank you for the link. You are obviously better at searching than I am.
Sounds to me as though the more recent comments (post take-over) are more positive than some of the earlier ones; so they are probably worth giving a try for some items.
Thanks for the feedback.
Ann
Just an update to say I got my order from Spring Garden yesterday. Other than it being very late, (I think they must think that the ice just melted here), I'm satisfied with it. The plants are not huge by any standards, but should be fine. The astrantia is just coming out of dormancy, so a little early to tell. I am very happy to finally have my Pulmonaria 'Raspberry Splash'. I also ordered Gaillardia 'Oranges and Lemons', and they sent a freebie of 'Zagreb' tickseed. Just a tiny thing, but a nice gesture.
my goodness you never payed that for the malva.when a pk of seed you would have lots for a third of the price .Thank god i grow from seeds
