Hi folks, I would like to know what your non-AV wish lists are - especially of the oddball genera....
The pic is of Aeschynanthus Crimson Belle (but it's probably not - it might be the species cordifolius) at the US Botanic Garden (with Spanish Moss/Tillandsia useinoides).

I am determined to get a petrocosmea forrestii. : ) Not a long list, just one. : )
whoever gets their hands on a forrestii must first put down some leaves!!!!
I had one last year, put down two leaves, gave the plantlets away, and we all managed to lose the plants :-(
Key, I have it on my order from Pat's Pets http://www.jcn1.com/patspets/MISCEL.HTM
My list is a mile long. I'm still paring it down. They dont ship for a while yet. So as soon as I return from Begonialand I'll put in my order with them and VG.
Naturally I want P. begonafolia, but will probably order most or all of them. They are my 'have to have' of the moment. Right next to Chirita!
I missed the meeting (AGGS) today in SFO, just had so much to do before I leave, and DH is taking me to SFO for a play friday so that doesn't give me much time to get the house ready for DH to take over when I'm dreaming/drooling in La La land next week. (Begoniaville)
Check out http://www.belislesviolethouse.com/page2.html too, I got side tracked over there for a few hours the other day...
drooling away.
Sinningias still scare me. I can't remember who it was that had them in a terrarium, Nanna or MsC. But that makes me think I'll kill them.
Non AV's I have to share are
Variegated leaf Lipstick
Gold Fish (common one)
Streps (several named varieties and three Ogalvee look-alikes)
Chirita
Streptocarpella
Key, put your name on the A. 'Christmas Carol' baby that I have rooting.

I would love a chocolate soldier (I lost mine :() before I could deal with them :)
I would love to have stardust chastity, ebirnea
I sent you some leaves from crossroads and I believe one othr chirita you don't have yet :)
I also ordered some unique chiritas on special at the violetbarn.
I asked if they would ship this spring..or now priority if they thought it was safe!
I made a HUGE order...I will post it here when I get home..I got a TON of exotic gessies :)
Key, anyway you would elaborate on the 'scale' of Kohlerias, Eucodonias and Koellikeria. I have no idea what that means.
any chance you'ld show with a photo?
thanks!
a photo? what makes you think I have a photo? heh heh....

The one on the left is a bag with a few Phinaea rhizomes. They look pretty much the same as kohlerias, except smaller. See how it's "scaley", not smooth?
Basically, long rhizomes can be broken up into pieces (about 1" for kohlerias) before planting. Or, if you're trying to propagate a rare or new plant, you can go even further - each of those scales will produce a baby plant as well. Scales usuallhy sprout very quickly, but I think the resulting plants are smaller to begin with.
I would be thrilled to share whatever comes in with ya Kenton :)
Begonia, is Pat's Pets a good place to order from? I went to their website and was thinking there would be dogs and cats or something. I guess she has pet AVs? They have the petrocosmea I want (I also want the begonia one). Have you gotten an order from them?
Hi Pam ! How are you ! Good to see you :))
Bob can you save some Choclate Soldiers please. I just looked and have one small one left :(( I've been giving them away left and right. Lorry I sent Bob a mega hugh one in a 5 inch pan pot it should be having babies if he's feeding it and giving it light :))
This is the one I sent him.
BOB where are you can you save some babies please ! One for Lorry :))
Had, I havn't ordered from them yet. Planning on placing mine in about two weeks. But I don't think they are shipping.
The sooner you order the better as they have been taking orders all winter and orders are shipped in order can take months to get your order. Same way with belisle's I also hope this year they can keep up with orders last year I ginaly gave up for an order from belisle's
Violet - I have been so busy at work it has been hard to read, much less post. : ) All the plants you sent me are well. I am anxious to get them under the lights though. Mine do a lot better under lights than in windows.
Yes if you can give them as much light as possible even sun and lamp at night. I even have an isolated box on under stove hood light. lol
I just got a HUGE goldfish plant in
It is a nematanthus (SP?)
Here is a linkn to it in plantfiles.
I am sure I can share this one..it is HUGE :)
Here is a link to it in plantfile.
If anyone wants some...please let me know :)
Erm..forgot the link

I would for my Step Dad. He saw one at our local Av show and has never sropped talking about it :))
Thanks, Lorry
Oh cool Allison :) I will add some to your next Box! It is truly GORGEOUS :) So I can't blame him for drooling. I will actually pop some out and root it...then next time I send you a box..I will put it in..Actually I am sure I can pull some right from the roots..this thing is huge. I can't believe it only costs me 9.99 :)
Though I should say..mine is a variegated variety of it :)
I will take a picture of her today to share!
Um Why YES! I'd love a cutting with variegation!! YUMMY! (pretty please)
LOL ok adding it to your list also Laurie :)
it is really the most incredible variegation I have ever seen :)
It has dark green., light green white and so many variations of that!
I am going to root some cuttings tomorrow and your name will go on one and Allison on another.
Anyone else?
Or I could send some cuttings homes with you Laurie :) I will see you next week :) Whichever you prefer
Beautiful Lorry . You can give Laurie some cuttings for me she's coming to see me after you :))
Where did you buy it at this great price ?
Lorry, a cutting or two is fine, I am having great luck rooting them in my perlite trays! My good ol' standard (and blooming) goldfish is rooting in there right now. Doing well so far!
Oh yea, and anything you want me to bring to Ali is no problem.
bump. it's warmer!
