Hello from a formerly quiet oldie ,now a disabled newbie

Westminster, CO(Zone 5a)

Wanted to introduce myself. I've been a member for awhile, been too busy wallowing in self pity, I have been disabled from a stroke for the last couple of years.

I'm finally ready to garden again!!!!!

I'll need help from time to time and will give any help I am able to.

Good to meet you all!

Hi Oldpepper, welcome!

I too have had a health problem ,not quite so old but getting there! DG is a friendly place, lots of great people. You will be kept busy on here, it keeps the mind active, and when you have the energy you will enjoy gardening even more.

Just get yourself a digital camera if you don't have one, you will never want to stop taking photos of your plants, butterflies, whatever you like! It also makes you think more about what you are doing, you won't even know you have been ill. Life is great with DG!

Welcome!
I am the mother of a disabled daughter with MD.....
We enjoy our yard and koi Pond.....picked tomatoes on Christmas and NewYears.....have them in an Earth Box in an enclosed area near the spa......what fun it is to brag to others, "we picked tomatoes on Christmas Day"........
Enjoy your garden, it brings so much peace to me. I can feel so "out of it" and go to the garden or patio area and come alive.......

Thank you all for your responses!

I've recieved my tactor scoot, extendable tools, seeds so, I guess I'm ready to do some damage.

Got out yesterday to do some cleaning of the patio area. Took it slow and it was a fine day @72 degrees. Wouldn't you know we are supposed to get 2-5 inches of snow today into Wednesday. Oh well, guess I'll get some seed started after I read the thread concerning peroxide and watering.

Blessed day to you all.

oldpepper glad to see you making progress! We had our 'warm' day yesterday, sun and up to 46F, only 39 today, drizzly, 100% humidity, wet and cold for the next week at least! How come you are all having that warm weather? Send some over here!

I did some cleaning up yesterday too, emptying 'dead' pots, was going to put in some more bulbs in pots, too cold now, best to wait. Fresh air and exercise, ah, doesn't matter what you do, as long as you do something...
