I am not familiar with this tricyrtis, very pretty.

Yes, very pretty, I have only grown the speckled ones. Does White Towers grow under the same conditions.

Shady and ruth, 2005 was the first year for us with this Tricyrtis. The flowers aren't much different than those of T. 'Shirohotogisu' http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/75178/index.html, however it does appear to have a more compact habit. I actually observed one plant in those we had growing that had a unique pink bloom. I've separated it from the others to watch this year and see if the color holds true. A true pink Tricyrtis would be a welcome addition to all the other wonderful blooms of this genus.

edited: after loading this picture, I realized it's a poor example of how pink this bloom really was, plus the picture was taken after its peak as the color was starting to fade.

rcn48,
Now that is a blossom that looks more like pink. You had posted picture of T. Taipei Silk and said that was billed as a pink blossom. In my opinion, your picture here is more pink than that of T. Taipei Silk.

rcn48, hope your pink tricyrtis is stable in color and that it blooms for you again this year.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed as well. It really was a very pretty soft pink and definitely different than the true white.

Shady, I was thrilled when 'Taipei Silk' was first introduced by Darrell Probst, but very disappointed when it didn't show the pink that had been portrayed in all the publicity :( It is definitely different than some of the other Tricyrtis, but far from what I would consider "pink".

rcn 48-
You said:Taipei Silk'... but very disappointed when it didn't show the pink that had been portrayed in all the publicity,,, but far from what I would consider "pink". I agree not even close. My bloomed the same as yours. Still a striking plant. But ah, a pink one now that is special.

Shady, I agree that even though 'Taipei Silk' isn't the pink I was expecting, its foliage alone is especially attractive when compared to our other Tricyrtis - so shiny it almost 'glistens'.

rcn- I don't remember that about it (shiny/glistening) I will have to pay attention this years.
