I was invited to the loal AV club meeting!
They said they were informed about me through the AVSA :)
The meeting is called "the pittman's way of growing!"
I can't wait :) She says it is a small group but I am sure it will be fun!

Oh wow fun ! I love Pittman's African violets. Take notes to share with us all ! Each month we had a different meeting, guest speakers, show and tell raffle tickets to win plants and stuff. Show and sales . Year of knowledge to learn . I fount them very exciting ! Have fun you lucky duck :))

I don't know about shows, sales and such since it will be my first meeting..but I will keep you all informed :)

LOL..I think the AVSA send out notices to the local clubs Anita..to let them know who has paid their dues to the society :)
I am not sure I am any more famous then that :)
Have a great time Lorry, I go to mine on the 25th. Bring your camera! I think you'll find that most are so willing to take you under their 'wing' and help a newbie out. Although you have a lot of experience to share yourself!!

Well I went to my meeting today :) What a lovely group of ladies and gentleman :) they gave me a plum pudding AV :) (each person takes turns bringing gifts to the meeting)
We also watched a slide show presentation on Pittman and there set up which was fascinating!
There was one gentleman there that has 200 varieties at his house but most were smaller hobby growers :)
I adored the group! So planning on going back next month!
Lorry...sounds like a delightful time..and one gentleman..and with 200 varieties...wow...glad you had such a nice time...i think there's a group in Palm Bay...but not sure....i don't do too well at "formal type" gatherings....but know it can be a great learning and fun experience...
Well this was only 9 people total (Laugh) So a very small group and so sweet :)
I have not become a charter member yet (as I am not usually a joiner either) but will definitely go back to the next meeting :)
once i'm there...i usually enjoy it...it's just that for so many years as a full time minister in the United Methodist Church and 28 years in radio and tv...i just had SO many meetings...and now I don't miss them...lol
