Bonnie, are these Tithonia or something else? I never remember to buy them until I see them blooming!

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Yes they are Tithonia, but looked in plant files and didn't see a pic of this one. It is mainly bronze colored, with the black center. It is very striking.

Ansofan, just send me the SASE, still have some. Want some giant sunflower seed too? Put a note in with your SASE, as I have some requested, but unfilled orders for purple cone flower that haven't been fulfilled.

Just bumping this thread, still have Mexican Sunflower seed, Mammoth sunflower seed for trade or a SASE.

I would love some of these. This year sunflowers are my thing. I have one called the 'skyscraper'. I only have a few seeds but they are yours if you would like to do a trade.

Hello Bonnie,
I got the seeds you sent, and as always, thank you very much for your generosity. I think you must love Zinnia like I do. Do you have any ideas about companion plants for zinnias? Last year I grew them in from of some yellow mums, and they looked good, but it seems that the mums took all of the attention. I thought about just planting them in with alternanthera (sp?) because I think the dark purple foliage of that plant would work will with the zinnia color palette. What do you think? Oh well, gotta run. Thanks again and talk to you soon.

Ansofan, last year I planted my zinnias with coleus, several different colors and textures, and they were gorgeous. I had a deep wine colored coleus, and a chartruse green one, plus about 5 other types. Then in another area, I planted zinnias with Cox comb, and that worked well also. But not as striking as with the coleus.
