Looking for fragrant daylilies

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

Does anyone have fragrant species of Hemerocallis, hoppefully no hybrids. Would trade for anything on my trade list... you can even ask for more just in case it is not listed there ;-))

Thanks

Zarcanat - I hope you know all seeds you do get from Daylily will be hybrids, no seeds will ever come up just like one parents. . . that said you can also never know if the seeds will have fragrant blooms from the seeds or if you will have non smelling ones. So the best thing to do to really get fragrant DLs you are going to have to get plants.

Anyway I hope you can find some - they are a wonderful thing to start growing! I would send you some of mine but they are all planted up this year!

Mitch what varietys do you find to be fragrant? Having a name might be a good place start.

I have not found any really good DL that is fragrant... all the ones I have smelled are more like a light almost not there scent. I have heard the same thing on here again and again... maybe my nose does not smell the way it should but I think there are better flowers out there for scent like Jasmine but if you go to Tinkers ( http://db.tinkersgardens.com/?script=3 ) and see if others have found it to be fragrant. The best fragrance to me that I have smelled was - A LA PROCHAINE - in some show gardens down here.

I own Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus or H. flava which is a very early bloomer, the scent is incredible, you really do not have to stick your nose into the blooms, you can be a few feets away and still get their perfume.

Anybody heard about
H. citrina (vespertina and thunbergii are synonyms)
H. dumortieri
H. altissima
H. middendorffii
They are too supposed to be fragrant.
