Another Bargain AV special if anyone is interested.

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

Bloomin Jungle is having an AV blowout. 9 plants (eBay size) for $40. Their choice from the 1800 that they put leaves down for.

Not sure if it's ok to post the offer here and will edit if necessary (let me know admin if there is a problem- dont want to be in trouble). But here's a quote from the email I received.

Time again for another offer from the Bloomin' Jungle!

We are over run with African Violet babies after setting over 120 trays of leaves last fall, babies are popping up everywhere, we have been potting our fingers off for weeks now, and we have so many we are having to put stands in front of stands or set them on the floor.

These babies are the same thing we have been offering on eBay, they are small, but will have been in their own pot for at least 30 days and are showing that they are established and well rooted, and are entering the stage where they will start growing quite rapidly.

If you read this whole letter, it should answer any questions you may have.

We assign you a number as the orders come in, and will ship in that order with the exception of bad weather on your end, in which case, you go to the top of the pile for the following week. I will be shipping only 5 to 10 boxes a week, and if there is a big response to this sale, it may take several weeks your box to be shipped, which also gives time for more babies to grow out.

We are not going to set aside anything other than I am going to save two babies of each variety for myself, everything else is open to be sold. I will pull out the first tray, then on to the next and so on, and select 9 different babies of my choice to ship to you, they could be any color or size, with as much as I have to fall over here, I cannot search for special plants or for say a particular size or color. Most are standards, there are a few semi's and mini's, but if you don't want standards, please don't order.

The babies that are available are for the most part different that what is on the website, most of these are either old friends or new varieties that I picked up from the shows last fall. They can include new, vintage, Wrangler's, Apache's, Stork's, Lyons, Robs, and many, many others.

According to my working list, I have over 1800 varieties, and last fall I set leaves of most of them, so anything is likely to show up in your box. If by chance I run low on plants big enough to ship, I may hold your order for a few weeks until I do have plants big enough.

The reason for 9 plants is that is all that will fit in a priority box using the method that I use to pack them with the insulation and so forth, therefore, I will not be able to combine shipping with any other plants or leaves.

No other offers, specials, or anything of that sort applies with this offer.

You can order as many offers as you like, but the price will not change, as the box is full and I would have to pack another box anyway.

This offer ends on midnight, February 28th, 2006.

Now for the best part!

9 African Violet plants, MY CHOICE, shipping included with fiberglass insulation and heat pack, shipped to the USA only, for $40.00! (if you bought these plants off eBay, they would cost you a minimum of $52.25)

Our usual guarantee applies, if plants arrive in a condition that they cannot be saved, I will replace them if you provide me with a photo within 5 days, and pay for the postage to ship replacements.

Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your hobby!
Linda

LOL...I guess I should have checked before I posted eh :)

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

it's all good, double coverage! I ordered one, hopefully I'll get one of those hard to find goodies that no one has. I asked her to hold and not ship until I get back from Miami (woo hoo two more weeks!! actually less, 12 DAYS!!!)

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

I ordered two Laurie :) So between the two of us..if we get something we don't want...we can always trade them out :)
Can't wait to see you! Are we still on for Sunday?

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

We're still on and you know what I found out when I went to the arboretum in SFO last Saturday? That my membership gets me in to Fairchild for free! How about that! They do reciprocal entry for members. So you can keep your extra ticket for other guests.

I can't wait either! Been trying to figure out how to bring all the plant goodies with me, and of course I have to bring my laptop so I can get my Dave's Fix everyday and upload photos.

I think I'm going to put my small suitcase inside my big one and check the two together, then I can fill one up in Florida!! I tend to pack light anyway, and I can always pick up extra clothes at a Ross or something if I really need to.
Going to try and stuff a box full of succulents for your Cacti garden along with some leaves and whatever else I can find! Bob? give a holler if you want anything.

I had Linda hold my goodies until after I return from FL. She would have had to ship monday next week for me to get them before I fly out, and she can't due to some cold weather forecasts. We're getting snow predicted for our neck of the woods. We did freeze last night - it was 29 this a.m. And lucky for me I turned on the heat in the greenhouse, I've had it off the last week and a half since It's been in the high 40's over night.
But snow? Hey Anita and Key, y'all have something to do with this?
We almost never get snow.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

yeah..you know..I like to share...

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

LOL..not tickets hun..I can get up to three people in free every time I go! I have a friend's and family pass..BUT so cool that you get in free!
Yeah she mentioned to me that it was going to be cold.
I am going to pop through my stuff and see what else I can send home with you :) Since you are going to have a suitcase to pack up LOL
So you need to send me a list of what you want! NOW! and that way I can try to get those things to ya :) I can bring you a leaf from crossroads if you like...and some episcia too if you like....of course fisherman's paradise is going home with you.
Did you want some succulents? Or are you over run? I can bring some of those also!

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

Sweetie you bring me what ever you like. I'll be happy with anything. Is crossroads the episcia? I thin you said you had a bamboo baby?

I believe that right after Fairchild, I'm going to b-line it in Ali's direction, Drive through the evening and stop when I get sleepy or if I make it the whole way, then I'll grab a motel along the way or something.

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Bamboo baby what?
We have Buddah belly bamboo..But that is Chris' department :) If you want some...I can ask him but think you need to chop at that in the spring :)

Crossroads is a chirita hun :)

I will pull a few things to bring ya and you can choose what ya want :)
Or I can ship it all to you in the spring..when the weather warms up. I don't want to bog ya down :) Hehe either way works fine for me!
