CLOSED: i have grasses, trade

Greenfield, IN(Zone 5a)

I have a georgous red fountain grass. 5 foot, redish and round. Also a 5 foot by 2 foot green, white stripped grass. I am looking for perennial bulbs, hosta and grass to fill my new yard. I would send nice dormate root divisions. Should look good this year.

Hooks, TX

I would like to have the red fountain grass. I already have the green and white striped grass. I have a nice division of Sum and Substance Hosta to trade. Let me know if we have an even-swap trade.

Even swap! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. I am going to try and figure out its scientific name today. It gets 5 foot round and pinkish red topped with feathery plumbs.

Hi Rachel, I was just thinking about you! :) Is this your grass? http://www.localharvest.org/store/item.jsp?id=2569

This is the one I was telling you I bought. http://www.magnoliagardensnursery.com/productdescrip/Pennisetum_Rubrum.html The first one is a hardy perennial and the second is not.

OH, you might not want to post your addy. Click on extras at the top of your home page and go to the addy exchange. You can join that and post it there. :)

UUUUGGGHHHHHHH it is not red perennial fountain grass. That is 2 feet to 3 foot. HELP mine is taller than me and I am 5"2' the clumps tops are different. mine is dense. I can't see through it. I remember it as a pinkish/red hue not purple. it is an open mound, perrinial, hearty

Greenfield, IN(Zone 5a)

It is hearty in zone 5. a mounding fountain plant. about a 3'wide base. the roots are bulbs shapped like green onions. they form a shallow root system which is very difficult to divide. I could not seperate it by hand. It is taller then red fountain grass?
What is it?

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Could it be a Miscanthus? There are many of those.

Rachel,
I know this isn't your grass, but this one I'll have in spring to ship.

I have grasses.......sea oats, big bluestem, bushy bluestem, little bluestem, cat tails...native Okla prairie grasses....yellow water iris, dark leafed canna....would like to trade for large red fountain grass

Citra, FL(Zone 9a)

Hello, I'm new to this, so I'm not sure if I have anything to trade, but I'd like a bit of both your grasses. I have jade plants grown from cuttings last summer, baby pepperwood trees (laurel),and ferns. I can provide photos. I'm a novice gardener and have not done any exchanges here yet. Except for the jade, these things are in the ground and stay out all year here. Laura

hey 4paws, what's a jade plant? is it a shrub? rachel i got your box and it looked great. hi, jeannie girl. barb

Citra, FL(Zone 9a)

Mamajack, jade's a succulent and it can be a shrub in the right place. It's in the plant files - looks like the first one photographed and reviewed by Dave. I've got mine in a large pot outside, though it technically shouldn't survive here. A couple of weeks ago we had some frosty weather and snow, so it did take a beating, but it's still growing and producing new leaves (are they leaves on a succulent; don't know much about them, but I can make them grow...) I think it's attractive and I've heard that having a jade in your house is supposed to be good luck.

I'd offer a photo of my big jade, but it looks a bit fried from the cold.

MAMA JACK I HAVE SOME JADE PLANT IF IT LIVES THRU ALEX..
