Happy Birthday!!!

Hope you had a special day... be sure to continue celebrating at least through this weekend.... "But it's my birthday!" is a wonderful excuse for stopping in at your favorite LGS and indulging in a new plant or three!

My amaryllis 'Striped Panther' celebrated by opening 2 blooms today!

Happy Birthday PlantMom. Have a good one. :)

Thanks again everyone! Critter, I think that's the prettiest amaryllis that I've ever seen. Is that another blooming one in the background? Your plants are all so beautiful!

Lali, at first I thought you had somehow spotted the angelwing begonia that's under the DG copyright lettering, but then I realized that's on "my other right" LOL. The big hanging plant is a green spider plant, and there's some trailing coleus in with it.... If you look really, really closely at the little pot with the spider plant baby in it, there are some angelwing begonia cuttings in there too... but I don't think they're visible? Then again, you could spot a begonia in the pitch dark, I've no doubt.

I do love the color on 'Striped Panther', and the trumpet-shaped blooms are so slender and delicate... very different! The amaryllis in the background is 'Pink Impression'. Here's a closer look...

I can sniff them out a mile away, but missed it here. I think it must be the coleus that is colorful in with that Spider.??

Those Amaryllis are so gorgeous. My red one is on it's second flush. It's been years since I had one. what do I do with it after it's done blooming?

and hope you had a happppppyyyy Biiiirrrrthday Super Mom!!!

Here's a good article about amaryllis from the National Arboretum: http://www.usna.usda.gov/Gardens/faqs/AmaryllisBloom.html
