Washentonian, itchen to be planten

Benton City, WA(Zone 6a)

My yard consists of: In the back-fruit trees, vegetable garden, herb garden, a small pond with plants and fish, berries and melons. In the front, roses, a new perennial bed this year with a bit of native, and Xeriscaping landscaping. That is something new for me. Three years ago we moved across the state and now I find living in a shrub-steppe region challenging. It's like living on a different planet from the West side of Washington. I enjoy flower arranging, grinding my own wheat and baking, cooking and canning, researching on the computer, hiking, biking, horseback riding, reading and spending time with my family watching movies. I could be a vegetarian if my family didn't like meat so much.

Hi from eastern Oregon, same climate as yours. It's definitely challenging. I've got horses too.
