Something (me?) is dreadfully wierd with my camera...DH "fixed" something, and I am afraid it wierded stuff up. So, forgive me for the fuzzies...
I "think" this is Rosamond...if not, can anyone ID it for me?
Random Photos today...remember, this IS winter
Your plants are lovely Carol. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
Oh How Beautiful..can't wait to see my bloom this year....You must share your secret to such gorgeous Brugs!!....Jeanne
Gorgeous pictures!! I'd like to winter in Hawaii too! We just received 1.5 feet of snow this past weekend! Want to trade??? :~)
One of the big differences between winter and summer is that the weeds germinate faster!!! We go thru gallons of RoundUp.
Very pretty!!!
Wow, Carol.. those are fantastic! I could look as your pics all day. That Rosamond is something else. Keep 'em comin'.....
Looking great Carol, as usual!! And I just love your chubby little white seedling too!
Gorgeous, Carol. With a winter like that, who needs spring? (the rest of us!!) Are all of these plants in your garden?
Thanks for sharing.
Carol, all your brugs are so pretty.
Thanks everyone! It is so cold now at night (upper 50s) I am really surprised!
Aloha - I have just joined the brug forum this week to try to learn something about them. Am seeing how little I know and how much there is TO know !!! Gee, that Rosamond is BEE-YOO-TEE-FUL !!! I just can't get over the colors and tendrils and things I didn't know exisited in brugs, so keep the pics coming for us newbies that have soooo much to learn (and I will try not to be jealous ).
Well .. Carol...
I for one am extreamly jealous... and you're got great right to feal highly complemented... your dedication... and care for them all.. and your chosen abode.. I highly value it all.. and others unmentioned.. not the least of which is your generosity ..and have envy as well... all good forms of appreation.. and they are looking real good ..
does the summers heat slow them down ... or is your microclime there filled with enough humidity .. a sea breeze or coolness from altitude.. to keep them going.. great guns through the summer also..
Again... they are looking good.. keep flourishing, Gordon
Beautiful, Carol!
:) Donna
Everything is so pretty. Love those orange flowers.
Carol, I did a bit of searching after I saw your pic of the Brownea bloom cluster. I found one place that sells it in the states and it's $80 a pop for a one gallon size plant! You're living in Paradise, gal!!
We wake up every morning ... and say "OMG...aren't we lucky". It really is a blessing...it is like a cartoon where a Monkeypod in a one gallon pot growes to a 20' plant with a bottom trunk diameter of 8" in a year and a half. Sometimes the work and the weeds and the bugs get to me...but generally I ignore it/them and we waddle along. Round-Up is my best friend.... LOL
Carol
I can't believe your Calathea 'Golden Mosaic' is that huge. Amazing.
Amend is my best friend, Carol. When I first discovered it I was in heaven, still am. I used to spend 1 day a weekend picking weeds all day. If they charged $100 for it, I would pay it. I am too old to be down on my hand and knees any more for hours. I no longer can get up.
Carol, your Golden Mosaic is beautiful, I do not think I have every seen one but I do not think DH would not understand the $80 part of the plant.
I realy enjoy all of your pictures but it makes it so hard to wait until spring.
And Kell it just gets harder. Joan
EIGHTY DOLLARS??????????????????????????????????? I am living in the wrong world!!!
Zone envy here!! Great looking plants Carol.
Brenda

It is just awful that you should have to put up with those hideous plants and freezing weather in winter! Geesh!
Just jiving ya!
They all look awesome!! (((Carol)))
Actually. that is not a Brownea, it is a Saraca, probably thaipingensis
