Hi, I have loads of morning glory and hollyhock seeds that need new homes. Most of the morning glorys got mixed up..in the Fall rush..some of the seeds I have (mixed) are: grandpa ott, carmen, early call, crimson rambler, flying saucers, chocolate, pres. tyler, silk rose and scarlet o'hara. The pearly gates I managed to keep seperate : ) I have lots of hollyhocks too they are: rose colored double, nigra, apple blossom double, chaters double mix, country charms mix, east coast hybrids mix, double red, single red and single yellow.
The only thing I really want is: tithonia and daylily seeds..but would be happy with any sun loving flower. Last year we had a drought and the flowers that did the best were the calendula, tithonia and the purple coneflower..really all the coneflowers; I love them but I do need yellow ones : 0
Trades in USA only..if interested please D mail me..seeds will be shipped in a bubble envelope.
Thanks

Hi taynors,
I don't know a thing about saving daylily seeds..all I know is I want to try planting some. I have daylilys but never looked for the seeds. Dah..I just thought you bought a bulb. I don't have grandpa otts alone (all the seeds got mixed up) except the pearly gates. If you don't mind all diff. colors I can send you some of those. Just let me know.
Bev
Ok
so i m a bit forgetful Duh i forgot daylillies are a bulb LOL i have plenty of those bulbls. i have some reseved for a few other trades but if you want a small bulb portion of red or prurpl and or yellow. I can do that for you when the dirt is workable. I will add you to the daylilliy trade list i have .
Can i do two or three vines growing together ? i hope that is n't a stupid question, please forgive.LOL
They will intertwine with one another i guess? :)
thansk
sue
Hi Sue,
Yes, you can have diff. color morning glorys growing together (thats how mine got mixed up) I planned on marking the diff. vines as they bloomed, then keeping the seeds seperate, but that didn't work out so well, I had vines going all over the place, so I just collected the ripe seeds and decided this year "they will each be planted in a seperate spot"
Actually the diff. colors all together were pretty.
I would love a red or purple daylily bulb when the time is right. But for now I will send you some "mixed" morning glorys and some pearly gates. Hope you are in the address section, if not, please D-mail it to me.
Thanks, Bev
Hi Bev,
are you interested in some blanketflowers (Gaillardia) http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/31614/index.html ? I have tons of seed and I know they're pretty fertile because I have little plants sprouting up between all the flagstones from a couple of weeks when I fell behind on deadheading. They are the tall kind and they seem to tolerate a lot of sun and drought and general neglect.
I'd like to get some of your morning glory mix. I have three types and my seeds are all mixed together too!
Janel
Katlian,
Sounds great, I would love some of the blanketflower "mix" = )
and I will send you some morning glory "mix" = )
I have your address, so will get them right out. Thanks so much, Bev
Do you want any ditch lilies? The plain old fashion orange daylilies?
Hi gingerlily, ditch liles..?? OK..sounds like fun..I think they could blend in. Are they seeds or bulbs? Would you PLEASE like some mixed up morning glorys in trade?
They are tubers, already have some green showing, so you might want to stick them in a pot til you can plant outdoors in your area. Ditch lilies is just a name people have given to the common orange daylily because sometimes you see them naturalized along the country roads. They're tough and really require no care. I don't know if these are singles or doubles. They were planted in too shady a spot and have not bloomed. I am going to move them all this year to a sunnier location. And yes, as a matter of fact I would like some of your mixed morning glory seed and I'm gonna find some other sun plant to send because I want some of your hollyhock seed too. I will let you know when I mail these. I will dmail you my address, please return yours to me. Thanks.
traynors, you can indeed save day lily seeds. After the blossom dies back, there will be a green pea looking pod. Just wait until it dries, then pinch it off, and there are seeds in there. Let them dry, then put them in the refrigerator, and early in the year, put them in a clear plastic container, with 1 part water, 1 part peroxide, shake to let them absorb moisture, place in a warm location, and they will sprout. Then you can just pot them up. Good luck if you try it.
Plantzoo, I will be looking for your SASE
defoecat, Great news..I'll be snipping off those seed pods too. I thought they were just (deformed daylilys) I never stoped to think (how do the plants get started in the first place?).........
Thanks for the planting info too.
Thats as bad as thinking choc. milk only comes from brown cows.
Just too much work and not enough play I guess =o]
Hi Kim,
Thanks, I would love some of those daylily seeds and I would love to send you some mixed morning glory seeds.
You can send me a d-mail with your address so I can get them right out to you.
Bev
Sorry I took so long, but I finally mailed the daylily tubers today.
gingerlily,
Thats fine it's still pretty cold here..so I will pot them up and put them out in May. Thanks so much. Bev
I am so glad that I saw the post about how to get daylily seeds. I bought two unusual plants last year from a grower and I would love to grow them from seed. I know they multiply, but not very much.
