Gorgeous plants -- Good Growing! :-)

Some of my favorite plants have been "rescues" from Home Depot or the grocery store. :-)

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

They are all gorgeous!
I buys many of mine from Jacksviolets on ebay.
or bluebird nurseries.
Since you are in FL ..I would be happy to send you some babies and leaves for shipping also :)
I know I always love to share!

Starfly, there's likely to be quite a flurry of trading here on this forum once the weather warms for shipping! Why not post a trade list and see what happens? I'd love to trade for non-AVs, especially sunny perennials that would be hardy in zone 6... my indoor space is getting more limited, but I could be tempted by other house plants, especially hoyas (have none but have been eyeing them).

There is also a good list of vendors in the AV "sticky" at the top of this forum... some ship in winter, others do not (or, like Rob's, they charge a premium price for cold weather shipping).

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Hey Critter..do you like persian violets? I believe they are cold hardy..though I will have to look and see just how cold hardy :) I just ADORE mine! And if you like them..I can send you one with our trade :)

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Oh and on shipping now..;) She is best off with bluebird or Jack's I think...most of the others won't even ship to FL without a big expense :)

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Starfly all I can say is WOW Gorgous plants ! You must have green arms. I love Violet Gallery 's plants best ! They have hundreds of named African violets. The plants are healthy and good size ! A few of us all placed orders for Spring shipping already !
Up in our Sticky is a list of Vendors.
I am also in Florida and have lot's of babies I grew by leaf to share for shipping/handling. Or take a ride this way and I can give you all kinds of babies to take home !
Welcome to our African violet forum :))

Persian violets, Lorry? What's a Persian Violet? Off I go to check them out in PF!

Hmmm. I don't know. It seems pretty tender, and MK says she can't grow it... and her thumbs are green all the way up to her shoulders! I sure don't want to promptly kill anything you send me, LOL!

Starfly, Columnia isn't actually an African violet, it's one of the "other" gesnariads. I think there's good culture info at Rob's Violet Barn site and other places... check out our gessie sticky thread (2nd from top of forum) for more information. They're cute plants!
