I have put Ripe bananas and or apples in a bag to ripen pears and papayas faster but haven't used on seeds or cuttings .
If no one has I quess it's time for one of wifes old nylons- I'll put fruit inside to stop fruit flies and try on some Brug seeds .
has anyone used this?
tony
I do recall years ago putting an apple in a bag with a pineapple top I had rotted to get it to send up a new shoot.
Over the years I have seen odds and ends of references to putting apples in big plastic bags with one plant or another to speed ripening and always remember the above use.
How were you thinking of getting and using the Ethylene?
Sidney
Apples and bananas produce Ethylene gas as they ripen .
I have only used an apple in a bag with tomatoes to ripen them.
