Blue Moon Hibiscus

Wichita, KS

I received some seeds in trade.
Will they be true to seed?

Hi:
If it's the H. rosa sinensis "Blue Moon" that I know, no, it won't be give you true seeds. None of the hybrid hibiscus rosa sinensis can be propagated by seed to create a clone.

Attached you have what I know as "Blue Moon", a Beth Jordan creation (http://www.hibiscos.com.br/Hibiscos.asp)

Thank you, Carlos

What a beautiful flower!
I don't know much (more like nothing) about the tropical hibiscus.

Any idea what might show up if I plant the seeds?

It is my understanding that the "Blue" hibiscus is actually an "Althea" or Rose of Sharon. The growth habit of it is a little different than the Pink, Purple, or White single "althea" it tends to stay more of a bush type but it is actually a nice blue color.
I have just started some seed and should have some blooming by the summer and I will post a photo of what it looks like. It should be intresting since I have never grown one and have only seen them in nurserys. Most of the time they are larger and to expensive.
