Hibiscus Liners

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

Some time ago I bought Hibiscus Liners from an E-bay seller. I have tried to located the seller but have had no luck. Do any of you remember who they were and where I can contact them. You could buy like 10,12, or more liners at a very reasonable price.. I bought Bride, Gator Pride, Smokey Mountain and a couple of others that have really done wonderfully for me. The Photo below is "Hibiscus Bride".

Is Carol the one that we got the co-op ones from? Someone was looking for info on that seller a couple of weeks ago, I think in chat and I couldn't remember her id or how to find her.

Carol is "Proplants" on Ebay. I have been watching for months and she hasn't listed any liners for sale.

I wrote to her after losing all of mine to Hurricane Katrina. She said she hoped to sell a few later in the season but had hurricane damage too to her plants and the GH she was leasing was destroyed so it may be April before she is able to list anything. I am in desperate need of replacements and she is the cheapest way to accomplish it. I lost 30 beautiful Tropical Hibiscus from her

It is just one of many small rooted hibiscus, that has been started.

Dave, I grow liners. I use a forestry-type tube for growing cuttings from flats onwards for other things than Hibiscus but I might try it on Hibiscus this year. From the liner I transplant them into 4" or 6" pots. The liner tubes are the easiest way to grow the plants in a small space but retain good rooting (deep) and are also great for mailorder.

My heart goes out to you, losing all of your plants and greenhouses. I can only imagine.

My thanks to Hibiscus and Growin,I learned something new today! :-)

growin, where do you buy your liner tubes? Are these like the tree band pots? I was looking for those not too long ago.

Hi Badseed, I get my supplies from http://www.stuewe.com/ and I bet they have your tree band pots too. I use the econo-super cell and stick them in a beaver styro-block discarded from a forestry nursery. The supercells come in boxes of 2000. I'll be real busy germinating Eucalyptus in these in about a month. Hope this helps.

I have posted this Exotic before but this is the newest bloom this year. I almost lost all my exotics last year when it was soooo hot and dry. I hope I will have better luck this year and can try and root some of these in the fall.
This is "Gators Pride" and one of my favorites. I have "Smokey Mountain" and "Bride" that have not bloomed yet this year.
