Kellyville, OK(Zone 7a)

Can anyone tell me how the easiest way to free the seed from the husk. I only have the use of one hand, I just received seeds from carol and tryied one seed and I think I mutilated it. Is there any other way to plant the seeds? thanks John

what do I soak them in that does best? I have heard that the seeds that float are not viable, is that so? John

Union City, CA(Zone 9b)

I soaked mine in 1/2 cup of H202 to a gallon of distilled water[ bottled water ] and a couple of drops of supertrive for about 24 hours . With bottom heat they took almost a month to sprout .
They all floated - I planted Brug , Datura , Santa Maria , 7 Crown in jiffy pellets .I thought the same thing .
Since then -
All my tomatoe seeds , the Noni , Hybiscus and tamarreo [ spelling - tree tomatoe ] all floated .
If seeds float I am planting 2 in each just in case they are MT shell with no embro inside .
I would keep them at least a month after planting before tossing .

Brug seeds float at first because of the corky covering. Sometimes it takes a day or two for them to get wet thru.

i do soak in peroxide..

I just soak mine in plain old tap warm tap water and I change it every day for 3 days, peel them and in the soil they go to grow big and strong.

John, even if you could just stick your nail in the corky part it would help the seed to break free if your not able to peel them.
