Canning Perennials

St. Peter's, PE(Zone 6a)

Has anyone ordered plants from Canning Perennials in Paris, Ontario. They seem to have a great selection. I already did up my shopping list for things that I can't Wintersow. Wow it adds up fast!
Thanks

I wasn't aware of them, but thanks for asking. I will have a look at their Hosta listings and may give them a try unless I hear negative comments.

Here's a link to their entry in GW: http://davesgarden.com/gwd/c/2449/ . Not many entries, but all positive. --Ginny

Thanks for the link, Michelle, I wasn't aware they did mail order. I may just give them a try.

Hmmm, I just scanned their catalogue and are they ever expensive for their mail order plants. Eg Hosta Dancing in the Rain $34.95, Heuchera Stoplight $26.95 and shipping for one Hosta June at $17.95 would be $14.00. Holy smokes!

Sandy,
Those were my thoughts as well. I created a shopping list of about 12 different plants and with expedited shipping it was almost 175.00. Wow! Can anyone recommend other mail order nurseries. The thing I liked about Canning is the variety and the fact that the plants are not bareroot. I have not had any success with bareroot plants.
Thanks

Thanks for the above comments. I didn't get as far as checking the prices because my computer sometimes goes belly-up when accessing web sites and it did it two or three times while I tried to access the Canning site (which I also found quite slow). We just (two days ago) got a new computer but don't yet have the Internet configured on it.

I found Canning Perennials, way too expensive for my wallet. So, I looked around for alternatives.

For Canna's: http://www.guildwoodcannas.com/

For Herb's: http://www.richters.com/

For Hosta's: I haven't got that far. :)
