This morning Lionel is just plain thrilled to be feeling better. It's my day off (I only get one every 13 days) and we're spending 90% of it in the garden. I needed to come in here and ask a question on the cacti/succulents forum and found that we can't reply to posts for the moment, so I'm starting another; which seems appropriate anyway because Lionel's not in the hospital anymore. Isn't this just the loveliest picture of him? He definitely lost some weight through all of this and that's a good thing. We were slowly but surely getting him slimmer but he went on a crash diet last week, lol. Since he's on liver medications and eliminating properly, plus very rambunctious this morning, I'm fairly sure his body is handing the sudden weight loss pretty well. He's being very good about eating his hairball formula dry food but we need to replace the rewards habit with treats since the vet doesn't want him having anything but the formula for now. Giving him his treat was a great way to get him into the house when he didn't want to come. Shake the treat container and he'd come-a-runnin'. OK, I need to get back out there and supervise his terrorizing the birds. Goodness the weather is perfect here! 70 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze off the ocean. Look at Lionel's new slimmed down face. I love him to bits and am so happy he's on the mend.
