Well, regardless of the fact that it's quite chilly here today & we have a prediction of snow showers/flurries later this afternoon/evening, I just returned from picking up a few groceries, & was both surprised & delighted to find the first shad roe of the season!!!!! Of course I had to pick some up.
Husband hates the stuff, so I usually make it just for myself for lunch. As far as Shad Roe is concerned, I like it prepared the simpler the better, so just saute it in an obscene amount of butter with some fresh lemon juice & a little freshly ground black pepper.
Anyone else here like this springtime treat & have any recipes for it?
