Autumn Oilve!!

South West, LA(Zone 9a)

In Nov. I got about 20 bareroot Elaeagnus umbellata plants to make a tall hedge to block out my "Sanford & Son" neighbor. They have had little buds on them for days now and they just decided to open. Let me just say Oh My GOSH!! There just little sticks and they smell this good I can't wait till its a big bush in full bloom! I can't even describe the fragrance kinda honey grape. I know it is said they can be invasive, but if they smell this good I say bring it on!!

I had no idea they were fragrant. Those are supposed to do well here.
I was at a house the other day and they had some green bushes with itty bitty flowers. They smelled good. No one knew what they were though. I wonder if they were eleagnus?
